The following post features student writing.

We started off our day eating delicious homemade plantains and some rice and beans. We worked on the construction site laying the ground and working on the walls. We also finished painting the walls of the school and started on our game of “Assassin,” which was over by dinner time but definitely provided a great source of entertainment for a while.

During rest time, we all went to the river and spent an hour jumping in with some of the local kids. After lots of swimming we all stopped for ice cream and cookies. Some of us went to play soccer before dinner. By the time 6 PM came along we were all starving and ate Cailey’s great food that she made. We had a great group meeting directed by Jessica and Meg, where we played “Two Lies and a Truth” and then all slept very well that night due to our exciting day. We are looking forward to our nature hike tomorrow and a weekend of lots of fun before we start work again on Monday.
